See on Scoop.it – Wearable Art
Bianca Fleischman bought her first piece of costume jewelry for 50 cents as a young girl, and has been infatuated by the creation of unique pieces from vintage and “junk” materials ever since. Her Etsy shop justbedesigns features a wide array of jewelry, and the artist’s affinity for charm bracelets shines – Fleischman creates each by hand, setting cameo portraits as a base and accessorizing it with a variety of old and new charms from her collection.
Several pieces have a clear literary bent; favorite 19th century female writers such as Jane Austen, Emily Dickinson, and the Brontë sisters are prominent figures in her collections; such charm bracelets feature cameos of the authors paired with delicate floral and heart charms, vintage symbols of luck and fortune, and classic literary charms of books and pens. Larger pendants display famous quotes from their masterpieces as well as portraits of powerful female figures the likes of Marie Antoinette, Queen Victoria, and Coco Chanel.
The image featured here is the “Emily and Hope Leafy Necklace” and surrounds a beautiful classic Emily Dickinson quote with four chains and a variety of elaborate leaf charms. Fleischman’s pieces generally range from $25-50 and ship internationally from her Duchess County, New York home studio.
