Once a Wal-Mart, Now a Library

The Los Angeles Times reports on one Texas community’s efforts to reconfigure an old Wal-Mart into a sprawling public library. The McAllen Public Library, which spans the size of two football fields, is the largest one-story library in the United States, and was recently named the winner of the 2012 Library Interior Design Competition after its opening in December 2011.

The library itself is gorgeous. Good job, McAllen, Texas!
